Iran’s carpet exports rise 27%, U.S. reported top importer

TEHRAN - About $350 million worth of Iranian carpets were exported during the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20) registering a 27 percent increase compared to the preceding year, Tasnim news agency quoted Hamid Kargar, the head of Iran's National Carpet Center.

According to the official, in terms of weight the figure also increased by 16.5 percent during the mentioned period.
The United States of America ranked first among the top buyers of Iranian carpet.
“The U.S., Germany, Lebanon, UAE, Pakistan, Japan, UK, Qatar, South Africa and Australia were the importers of Iranian carpet among which the U.S. ranked first,” Kargar said.
